Oh LaTeX how you taunt me

Here’s a good one. Since I’m currently unemployed and looking for a job, naturally I’ve been sending resumes out. I’ve used LaTeX to generate my resume for years now, and it has always worked out quite well. However, today I had a need to print out my resume, and when I did, [...]

Shocking News

It’s been a while since I posted anything on this blog, and I wish my return was the result of better circumstances but no such luck: my position at Sun Microsystems has been eliminated, and as a result I have been let go. It is ironic that the European Union’s lengthy delay in approving [...]

Cannon Mountain

or several weeks, now, Katy and I have been hoping to knock off another 4000 foot mountain in our goal of hiking all of New Hampshire’s 4000 footers. With winter closing in, there aren’t too many weekends left before we would likely be hiking on a snow covered trail. With the recent unseasonably [...]

Lafayette Lincoln Loop

This past weekend, Katy and I went on the first of hopefully many adventures hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It’s been quite some time since I’ve done a lot of real, solid hiking. When I was much younger, my dad, brother, uncle, and I used to make semi-frequent camping/hiking trips [...]

Adieu Reading Rainbow

I caught a glimpse of this headline the other day: Reading Rainbow Reaches Its Final Chapter. Wow! I had no idea that show was still airing. Not only that, but LeVar Burton was still the host! I remember watching Reading Rainbow when I was in first grade and getting a [...]

Marathon Monday

I may play a lot of ultimate these days, but given a choice between competitive Track and Field and competitive Ultimate Frisbee, I would pick track every time. Four years on the track team at RPI when they also had a great ultimate club team is proof of that. Despite that focus on [...]

Prize Winning Opportunity

Katy’s running the Boston Marathon again this year, and raising money for the Jimmy Fund in the process. Today’s campaign is a one-day, April 2nd only opportunity to win 100 Grand. Don’t miss out!

Commute Rant

Ok. So I don’t usually post an entry on here to complain about trivial matters, but something happened today on my commute to work that just seemed to strike a nerve. I thought maybe if I write a post about it, then it would stop bugging me. Every morning, when leaving to [...]

Ultimate Showcase Series

Today Katy and I went to see The Ultimate Showcase Series championship games at Dilboy stadium in Somerville. The event is a series of games put on by BUDA over a month long period featuring elite level ultimate players from the Boston area. Every player in the showcase has competed at either [...]

Marathon Champion!

I would like to take this post to congratulate Katy for an absolutely awesome accomplishment, finishing the Boston Marathon in 5:30:42! Raising money for cancer research and also battling (and defeating) multiple injuries along the way during her training, it was no small feat.
